The fight started very competitively with Cotto matching Manny's activity. Miguel used his left jab to put Manny at bay in the earlier rounds. Miguel Cotto's defense was also very very tight. Manny had difficulty penetrating Cotto's defense. Also Cotto is fighting a very smart game, not rushing things.
But on the second round, Manny finally find some holes in Miguel Cotto's defense. But Miguel Cotto was able to release power punches to Pacquiao's body and head. What's amazing was that Pacquiao just took the power punches of Cotto and shrugged off as if it doesn't hurt him.
On the third round, Cotto was hit by Manny and went down for the first knock down of the fight.
As the game pick-up Pacquiao's speed and volume punches finally get to Cotto.
On the 9th round, Cotto tried to make a stand but again Manny Pacquiao is just too much for him. On the the 11th round, referree Kenny Bayless stopped the fight because Cotto no longer fought back.
